UTC Aerospace Systems is seeking a dynamic and effective leader in the areas of cost reduction and cost management. As the new Manager for our Engine & Control Systems - Cost Reduction business unit located in Windsor Locks, CT, you will have the responsibility to: 1) Lead a team of Cost Management Associates though all phases of the cost management value chain. 2) Support $1B annual spend portfolio across 6 different commodities. 3) Act as the Work Transfer focal point for Business Unit concerns.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Timely Execution of make to buy and buy to buy transition projects

  • Effective communication with all internal customers

  • Leadership of project managers with various levels of experience

  • Ensure use and compliance to PRO-0008 (UTC work transfer policy)

  • Establish priorities and ensure timely execution of approximately 100 projects (650 unique part numbers)

  • Serve of key point of contact with Supply Chain Management Commodity Teams, Business Units, Suppliers, Engineering, Quality and in country teams (Regional Offices).

  • Present and provide project updates to all levels of the organization.

  • Lead resolution of project setbacks including identifying alternate solutions, internal UTAS escalation, interfacing with suppliers, etc.

  • Support teleconferences during off-hours due to time zone difference with suppliers in region

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the team as well as timely execution of all RRCA needed to address process integrity.

Qualification:

Basic Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Aftermarket, Supply Chain Management or related area with increasing responsibility

  • Proven leadership and communication skills across disciplines.

  • Ability to lead in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Project/Program Management experience

  • Cost Sensitivity and Business Judgment with proven bottom line results

  • Process Design and Governance (standard work)

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Results oriented and deliver on customer commitments

  • Integrator across multiple teams, business segments, and sites

  • Detail / Financially Oriented

  • Technical Aptitude

This is considered a highly visible role which will require the candidate to consistently interface with senior leadership, and present business progress.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management or related field is desired

  • Master’s degree preferred
