Role Overview

As a Quality Engineering Intern at UTC Aerospace Systems, you will support the Quality Organization within the Windsor Locks Hamilton Sundstrand Worldwide Repair (HSWR) facility of approximately 400 employees. HSWR performs overhaul, repair and modification for aerospace control systems and components. This includes mechanical and electronic engine accessories, air management systems, starter systems, and aircraft accessories.

The Quality Engineering Intern shall be responsible for :

  • Supporting the Quality engineers with special projects as it relates to the improvement of Product, Process, and Quality systems

  • Updating and developing several Quality databases using Microsoft Access and Excel

  • Improving the Corrective Action tracking tool using the workflow IT tool

  • Assisting with the training program and warranty process to drive reduction in cost

  • Assisting with the updates of all procedures to ensure compliance of new revisions to the AS9110 standard

  • Participating in Quality kaizen events to reduce Product, Process and System inefficiencies and escapes

Main project: Identify and implement IT solutions (I.e. optical character recognition technology) to detect paperwork errors on compliance paperwork provided to Customer.

Additional Tasks:

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications

  • GPA of 3.0 or above is required

  • Due to federal regulation or contracting requirements, this position is only available to U.S. persons

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Results-oriented

  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team
