The Supply Chain team is responsible for working closely with suppliers around the world to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. Our team fosters a collaborative environment that thrives on the utilization of the UTC ACE (Achieving Competetive Excellence) Operating System, while coaching and supporting the supply base to ensure they meet our quality standards and achieve success in their lean journey. The role of a purchasing associate is both exciting & challenging. This position is in the distributed and fabrications group within the global operations organization and requires exceptional problem-solving skills & the ability to build effective working relationships across the many UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) functional groups including Quality, Materials, Continuous Improvement, Production Readiness, Engineering and multiple suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of supplier relationships, including delivery, quality performance, cost, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.

  • Oversees purchase order execution and product delivery, ensuring placement of on-time schedule agreements, billing adjustments, terminations mitigation & cost reduction goals execution.

  • Comply with all aspects of the UTAS Procurement Manual, UTC Code of Ethics, International Trade Compliance, & Transition Standard Work (TSW).

  • Long-distance interaction with Regional Office personnel such as Delivery Assurance Specialists, Supplier Quality Assurance Representatives (SQAR’s) & the Continuous Improvement Specialists providing procurement & materials management for the commodities.

  • Ensure cost analysis/price justification, market share appropriations, & placement of schedule agreements are completed on-time & in compliance with all appropriate regulations & procedures.

  • Engage with the relevant Strategic Sourcing team and participate in long-term sourcing decisions.

  • Reducing all forms of quality & delivery turnbacks through weekly QCPC / MRP turnback meetings. Th

  • Implement effective Delivery/Quality Clinics (DQC’s) with suppliers, as required.

  • Foster active daily use of the ACE operating system through ACE tool usage to improve EH&S, quality, delivery, financial, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.

  • Actively drive Supplier Gold by participating in supplier improvement activities, & Critical Supplier Reviews (CSR’s).

  • Develop and meet key program metrics for the team in addition to standard commodity metrics as defined by the Business Unit and Supply Management control towers.

  • Strong communication skills, specifically conversational, email, telephone, & occasional presentation, are desired.

  • Support both internal and external customers is critical & achieved by providing updates that are detailed, timely, and accurate.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 0- 2 years of experience in Engineering/Supply Chain/Manufacturing or related area with a continued proven track record of performance achievement and growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management Including inventory management, manufacturing resources planning (MRP), demand planning, and capacity management.

  • Experience managing single sources Hardware, Value Engineering, Part Standardization and familiarity with Procurement

  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter possessing sound technical judgment in addition to having the ability to integrate, interpret and act on conflicting or incomplete information in pursuit of an objective.

  • Strong, demonstrable, computer and quantitative skills are desired. Experience with SAP and proficient Excel user preferred.

  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other Business related field is required.
