TC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) is one of the world's largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products. ISR & Space Systems is a business unit within UTAS and our products reside in deep space, low earth orbit, undersea and on the ground. We are also a major supplier to international space programs. The ISR & Space Systems business has contributed to significant advances in ground, air, space and imaging technology for over 85 years. Within ISR & Space Systems we design and manufacture Environmental Control and Life Support Systems on the International Space Station, including the space suit, and undersea in submarines.

We presently have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer. The ideal candidate will:

Support engineering activities associated with the analysis, design, and structural testing of thermal control and environmental life support components and assemblies for various aerospace applications including NASAs Crew Exploration Vehicle, NASAs International Space Station as well other aerospace and satellite platforms.

This is both an individual contributor and mentorship level position. Deliver against the cost, schedule and technical requirements of the program as defined by the Chief Engineer or IPT leadership in accordance with Standard Work. Deliverables include ensuring execution of Peer and Design reviews, analyses, Validation activities, Verification activities, design documentation (drawings, reports), task cost and schedule performance, etc.

Build core-competencies within the mechanical engineering team through coaching, training and counseling of direct reports to improve performance. Develop and implement mechanical design best practices, processes and procedures within the Standard Work framework. Implement and support Standard Work processes across all programs to deliver consistent results. Conduct regular performance reviews.

Work collaboratively with Engineering, Programs, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to achieve optimal design solutions. Work closely with Program Managers and Program Chiefs to ensure customer satisfaction through careful planning and staffing of projects.

Experience in designing PC boards for random vibration, and a working knowledge of Steinberg a plus. Participate in the proposal process to develop and review cost estimates and proposal packages where mechanical engineering resources are required

Qualification: 5-10 years of Experience

Proficient in CREO/PRO-E

Experience with Drawing Creation

Working Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance

Must be a US person

Education: The candidate must be a US person: 4 year BSME or equivalent Masters degree a plus| 3-8 years of Experience Proficient in CREO/PRO-Experience with Drawing Creation Working Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
