Role Overview

As a Heat Exchanger Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will be involved with engineering change submittals, incorporating statistical process controls on the factory floor, and resolving equipment and software issues utilizing the vinyl cutter, 3D printer, and microscope.

Essential Responsibilities

The Heat Exchanger Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be responsible for:

  • EC: review with manufacturing, quality, and design engineering to understand specific manufacturing issues with engineering drawings, mark up drawing with changes, and provide substantiation for change.

  • SPC: incorporate SPC on shop floor for known problem cells by writing specification plans in Prolink and working with operators on shop floor to ensure plans work as expected. Manufacturing engineering will support candidate with training on software and SPC principles.

  • Equipment/software: several pieces of equipment require working through software and hardware bugs preventing the use or refinement of equipment. Candidate will review issues and either resolve or coordinate resolution.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have completed at least 30 credit hours of college coursework by start date

  • GPA of 3.0 or above is required

  • Must be willing to work 40 hours per week

  • Knowledge of excel/access database

  • 3D CAD software (preferred UG/NX) experience

  • Blueprint reading/ tolerance studies experience

  • Due to federal regulation or contracting requirements, this position is only available to U.S. persons

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing/industrial engineering
