Role Overview:

The position involves the transition of products and processes from the Windsor Locks manufacturing site to other domestic and international UTAS locations. The candidate should be able to perform various activities involved within the transfer of product lines and processes. The range of responsibilities will vary from technical to project focus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The individual will be responsible for understanding and comprehending product and process issues, and expected to translate these issues in the form of engineering changes as required.

  • The individual will also be expected to comprehend manufacturing processes and update work instructions, process specifications, and completion of First Article Inspection (FAI) documents as required.

  • The position will also entail hands on work within the Windsor Locks, CT facility.

  • Most importantly, the individual will be expected to organize and manage all project related tasks.

  • The ability to be adaptable to different tasks and issues are key for this position.

  • The position requires an individual who is extremely organized and detail focused as many of the tasks will involve managing suppliers, individuals, and an overall project timeline.

  • Updates to the project transition team, and providing clear direction to all functional support groups will be expected.

  • The individual must also be able to provide clear communication, both written and verbal, to all levels of management.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience.

  • Knowledge of HS12000 and GD&T drawing principles (ANSI Y14.5M).

  • Working ability in MS Office Suite, MS Project, SharePoint, Solumina, SAP, and Teamcenter.

  • Experience within manufacturing/operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to take direction and come back with solid results/solutions.

  • Ability to manage daily tasks and meet timelines.

  • Ability to focus on results.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes or restructure of priorities

  • The candidate must be able to work in a high paced environment. This position is project specific and has tight deadlines for completion.

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills are required.

  • Results focused and detail oriented are a must.

  • Candidate must possess a heavy focus on details and have above average organizational skills with the ability to clearly communicate with all levels of management.​

  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision. Position involves large amounts of collaboration with multiple functions.

  • Ability to work with internal and external contractors and suppliers.

  • Employee will maintain complete control of their tasks and are expected to manage them to keep pace with the project schedule.

  • Core skillsets to include a proven ability to be highly adaptable to any and all tasks requests ranging from technical work to project management.

  • Ability to comprehend product related process specifications.

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma tools is highly desirable.

  • Preferred (not required), working ability and understanding of 3D CAD in Unigraphics.

  • U.S. passport holder.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field is required.
