Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. The Supply Chain team is responsible for working closely with suppliers around the world to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. Our team fosters a collaborative environment that thrives on utilization of the UTC ACE operating system, while coaching and supporting the supply base to ensure they meet our quality standards and achieve success in their lean journey.

We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work in a challenging environment. The candidate should able be able to provide a high level of customer focus while meeting business objectives. Seeking an individual to fill a highly critical position affording exposure to innumerable facets of UTC Aerospace’s (UTAS) robust and expanding business.

The highly motivated team player filling this position will have the opportunity to team with Global Operations and SBU’s, program management, spares management, the supply chain organization and the external supply base at large. He or she will exercise a valuable skill-set by cultivating relationships with the aforementioned entities and acting as one of UTAS’ focal points for its supply chain management efforts.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • supervising a buying team, coordinating, implementing, and leading procurement activities on the Engineered Items Purchasing Team

  • driving on-time delivery, lead-time reduction; purchase material cost containment, and sustained quality improvement.

  • must possess ability to manage major supplier alliances, drive optimization in the procurement process with the systems and tool, and support all Global Operations supply chain customer requirements associated with Engineered Items

  • management of the purchasing team, demand management, supplier administration, assist with negotiations, and supply chain continuous improvement.

  • monitor and improve purchasing key performance indicators including but not limited to “on-time” order placement, delivery performance, PPM, RTV, and other metrics.

  • primary focal ensuring compliance of all purchase orders and purchasing process improvements

  • obtaining and negotiating competitive bids, price justification, purchase order placement, working with commodity leadership in establishing prudent long term agreement (LTA) contract management strategies, demand management, delivery and quality performance monitoring, supplier development using the ACE inspired tools, and interface with the engineering and qualities departments.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Aftermarket and/or Supply Chain disciplines with increased responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • must have an understanding of the ACE operating system and process improvement tools (e.g. standard work, value stream management, passport process, quality clinic process charts, relentless root cause analysis, 5S) as well as an understanding of the basics of supply chain management, including inventory management, manufacturing resources planning (MRP), demand planning, and capacity management.

  • managing single sourced Hardware, Value Engineering, Part Standardization and familiarity with procurement process a plus.

  • must be a self-starter possessing sound technical judgment in addition to having the ability to integrate, interpret and act on conflicting or incomplete information in pursuit of an objective.

  • Strong, demonstrable, computer and quantitative skills are desired.

  • Self-motivated, organized candidates with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, operations management, supply chain, engineering or related field.

  • Master's or other advanced degree is preferred
