Primary Responsibilities :

  • Set up, assemble parts of varying sizes from very small to moderate, inspect parts using gauges.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, assembly process specification, test reports, and test procedures.

  • Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools.

  • Accurately read and follow work instructions, procedures and routings.

  • Move parts from one position to the next which may weigh from 2 – 15 lbs.

  • Operate grit blast, lathe welder, sand bath, tack welder or other pieces of equipment.

  • Participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement plans/events as required.

  • Acquire applicable skill/knowledge/certifications as required.

  • Once properly trained and/or certified to perform specific tasks including, but not limited to, welding, soldering, assembly test and inspection, filler, immersion testing, etc., you require very little direction from lead or management.

  • Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Comply with all rules, regulations, processes and procedures of United Technologies, including but not limited to: Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S), Ethics, International Trade Compliance (ITC) and Human Resources.

  • Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.

  • Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.

  • Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards and objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Career Readiness Certification (CRC) strongly preferred.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Experience in TIG Welding preferred.

  • The ability to successfully complete training modules associated with the job.

  • The ability to follow assembly instructions.

  • The ability to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.

  • The ability to manipulate small parts.

  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and produce manuals.

  • The ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.

  • The ability to understand end uses of products being built.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail in order to ensure safety and a quality product is produced.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • The ability to work in a team to support work capacity in a fast-paced environment.

  • Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens and learning new software programs.

  • Demonstrate analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • The ability to take direction from more experienced co-workers, leads and supervisors.
