The Propulsion Systems Analysis (PSA) group is at the forefront of advancing next generation engine capability through engine performance and operability optimization. The Geared Turbofan engine has excelled at commercial single-aisle market sales, motivating additional platforms, and continued innovation through the next generation product family product line. Likewise, the military products of the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, and next generation adaptive cycle engines are ground-breaking engineering innovations that define what is state of the art for jet engines.

The Systems Analysis and Validation (SAV) Senior Engineer in the Propulsion Systems Analysis group will be accountable for the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Test and analyze plans and coordination, instrumentation requirements, pre-test predictions, on-site /remote test coverage, test data management and validation, post-test data analysis and test reporting and documentation for all propulsion systems tests and functional validation across all P&W product lines (Commercial, Military, and Industrial). Includes test planning, instrumentation requirements, pre-test predictions, on-site test coverage, test data management and validation.

  • Actively participate in SAV Discipline improvement activities and knowledge management.

  • Interact daily with PSA's Systems Performance & Operability Analysis Groups, Module Centers, Controls, Instrumentation, IT and Hardware and Product Validation Groups to ensure that the propulsion system satisfies its functional requirements. Together these groups plan, schedule and conduct tests in support of the development and certification/qualification of all engine models.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science/Technology.

  • 5 years of experience in project planning, risk assessment and mitigation, probabilistic analysis, and root cause analysis in the jet engine test environment.

  • 2 years of experience with test data analysis, test reporting and test conclusions.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science/Technology
