Primary responsibilities will be to perform fuel, lubricant, and hydraulic fluids testing using a variety of physical and chemical measurement techniques. Overall job focus is support of jet engine/APU engine testing and assembly operations at the West Palm Beach Facility. Pratt and Whitney is a worldwide leader in the development and production of gas turbine engines. Systems Engineering and Validation West Palm Beach Florida site operations is responsible for the validation of development military and commercial jet engines at its multiple test facilities. These engines are subsequently produced for use in a variety of government and commercial applications including the F35 Joint Strike Fighter, F22 Raptor, Bombardier C-Series, Airbus, Irkut, Embraer and Mitsubishi jet applications. This position involves a high degree of interaction with both test engineering and operations groups requiring effective verbal and written communication skills. A strong emphasis is placed on dedication, innovation, resourcefulness and attention to detail. This organization supports testing and field operations across multiple company and customer sites throughout the US and the world.

Qualification:

Required Qualifications

  • BS and/or MS in Chemistry, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of experience

  • US Citizen, due to Government contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chemistry degree or equivalent training & experience in Fuels and Lubricant testing are highly desirable.

  • Familiarity or experience with ASTM Fuels and lubricant test methods are highly desirable.

  • Familiarity or experience with normal laboratory procedures and techniques (e.g., use of analytical balances, pipettes, burettes, following test methods, etc.) is required.

  • Knowledge / skills with the applications of wet chemistry, spectrometric oil analysis and scanning electrode microscope (SEM) is a plus.

  • MS Office is required and experience in other signal acquisition or processing software is a plus.
