The P&W Military APU Business Unit, located in West Palm Beach, Florida has an immediate opening for an innovative and engaging leader who can leverage proven leadership skills to expand our business, deliver profitable new products and delight our Customers . The APU team is unique within the Military Engines group – with multiple programs in every stage of the product lifecycle, our team members have an unmatched vantage point that enables them to learn, grow and perform much faster than on any other singular program. We are at a unique inflection point in our business. We have the opportunity to potentially double the size of our revenue over the next few years. This will be done through the introduction of a new product line, redesigning existing engines to reduce cost, and innovative process improvements. Our vision, over the next two years, is to permanently secure our position as the Customer’s Preferred choice in Military Axillary Power and Expendable Propulsion by delivering superior products and services, and an unbeatable value proposition to our Customers. At the same time, we will transform our team into a streamlined, agile and self-sufficient organization that is a model for product and process innovation across the entire company. The Associate Director of Production Programs is a core member of the APU Program IPMT.

The scope of responsibilities includes all new business development activities - including negotiating new programs directly with Customers - as well as leading all internal product development programs. There are currently 3 direct reports, but the position provides leadership across the IPMT. The role will provide very high level of exposure to senior leadership, customers and suppliers. The position works closely with a broad set of organizations and supports these key activities:

• Develop and implement both long term Auxiliary Power and Expendable Propulsion business strategies which clearly articulate our desired position in the market, brand reputation, organizational approach and business case. The plans must be a comprehensive approach which enables us to confidently exceed both revenue and margin projections in our latest 10-year plan.

• Develop and implement Product and Technology Roadmaps for both APUs and Expendable Propulsion Engines based on the market assessment and business strategy for each segment

• Accountable to APU Executive for tracking, pursuing and winning all known opportunities within a 10 year horizon that fit the agreed business strategy using a tailored version of the ME BACE Process.

• Accountable to APU Executive for delivering all new product development programs on time and on budget using a tailored version of the PW Passport Process.

• Provide Leadership, Coaching and Mentoring to Program Managers to enable them to excel in their current roles and future career.

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with program, operations or supply chain management while demonstrating a history of strong communication, teamwork, ethics, negotiation and creative problem solving skills

  • US Citizenship due to government contracts.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or Business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Superior business judgment, leadership, time management, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to creatively solve complex problems, innovate, challenge the status quo, and lead people.

  • High EQ who can lead the team through a very transformative period.

  • Energy and a passion for solving tough problems in a fast-paced environment, but the ability to do so by empowering and motivating people ( not through command and control style).

  • Proven ability to drive strategic change across a complex, cross-functional organization

  • Ability to influence and build consensus at every level.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels, including executive leadership and with Customers

  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or Business

Education: • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations Management or Business
