UTC Aerospace Systems is one of the worlds largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products and employs approximately 42,000 people worldwide with approximate annual sales of $14 billion. We design, manufacture and service systems and components and provide integrated solutions for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms. We are also a major supplier to international space programs. Our customers include original equipment manufacturers that build aircraft and helicopters, engine manufacturers, and airlines, as well as defense agencies and contractors. Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and/or electrical assembly

  • Perform inspection and maintain qualified operator program (QOP) certifications.

  • Perform rework.

  • Perform unique assembly processes.

  • Accurately read blueprints.

  • Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools.

  • Demonstrate proper use of electrical measuring devices.

  • Demonstrate proper use of mechanical measuring devices.

  • Accurately read and follow procedures, routing, and other work instructions.

  • Take ownership of accuracy of processes.

  • Meet internal and external customer deadlines as determined by the team.

  • Build parts that meet drawing specifications.

  • Comply with applicable elements of quality systems (ACE).

  • Work successfully in a team environment.

  • Handle multiple tasks.

  • Acquire applicable skill/knowledge/certification as required.

  • Comply with safety and hazardous waste disposal programs.

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts (ACE).

  • Understand end useof manufactured product.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet deadlines and quality requirements.

Special Projects:

  • Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.

  • Understand and use computer tools such as SAP and accurately follow work instructions.

  • Achieve special process certification where applicable.

  • Demonstrate a proactive role in problem-solving.

  • Pursue certifications in continuous improvement (ACE).

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 year of computer experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Note:

This position falls under the FAA Drug and Alcohol Program. FAA regulations require that the candidate identified for this position will be subjected to random drug and alcohol testing while in this role.
