Supplier Designed Equipment Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide design leadership and oversight for supplier designed equipment to support complex Landing Gear programs by ensuring that component requirements that will meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform or oversee component analyses required to assure system design will function as intended and be safe and reliable.

  • Work with suppliers and customers to negotiate, maintain and finalize requirements.

  • Provide Technical expertise to Supply Chain & Supply Quality organizations.

  • Review component requirements and designs to assure system performance and safety.

  • Develop technical proposals, negotiate, and finalize requirements with OEM’s.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve internal processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 4 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 2 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.

  • At least 4 years engineering experience.

  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components and their associated functionality within an integrated system.

  • Skilled in the areas of requirement development, allocation, and validation/verification.

  • Proficient communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to make closure on tasks in a multiple constraint environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and over 6 (six) years aircraft brake control or landing gear engineering experience or similar aircraft hydro-mechanical or electro-mechanical systems engineering experience.

  • Ability to apply aerospace & military industry standards for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component development.

  • Leadership of successful qualification of aircraft system components.

  • Experience with component development and certification processes.

  • Knowledge of civil or military aircraft systems certification requirements and processes.
