The goal of the CCS Graduate Hire Program is to help early career professionals become productive and successful engineers within the one year development program.

Job Description

The Air Management Systems (AMS) group is responsible for custom fan and airflow systems engineering and technology development for the CCS / Carrier organization. The AMS group is currently seeking an MBD Aerodynamics & Acoustics Modeling Engineer who will work with global, cross disciplinary teams to apply model based design and verification tools and methods to create the next generation of fan and air-management solutions for a full range of HVAC/R equipment and systems for buildings and transport applications. Her/his main responsibilities include:

  • Advanced fan and AMS development using industry-leading analytical & computational methods.

  • Advanced CFD model development & use for fan and AMS flow performance and noise prediction. Perform model calibration & verification.

  • Develop analytical & empirical fan noise modeling tools.

  • Provide expertise in aerodynamics, acoustics, and air management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC&R and energy systems.

  • Technical planning and reviews.

  • Work with Carrier teams and suppliers to implement custom fan & AMS designs.

  • 5% domestic and international travel.

Qualification:

3-5 years of experience preferred and/or educational background in the following areas:

  • Aerodynamics and aeroacoustics of turbomachinery.

  • CFD analysis of rotating machines and other flow-path systems.

  • Aerodynamics and acoustic experimental methods, instrumentation, and data analysis.

  • Familiarity with HVAC&R equipment and systems a plus.

  • Good communication and organization skills required.

Education: BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3-5 years of experience with a GPA of 3.2 or higher
