The Project Manager will supervise, coordinate, and ensure the timely construction of site equipment and building expansion projects. The position requires expertise in project management, including planning, development, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for internal customer relations and satisfaction, job supervision, and subcontractor management. Duties include developing and sustaining project schedules, maintaining budget, and working with contractors to assure productivity and timeliness.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record of excellence with regard to safety and quality. The candidate will be expected to effectively work with vendors and subcontractors to negotiate favorable rates, procure materials, and obtain equipment. Promoting teamwork, cooperation, and open communication among all stakeholders involved with the project is a required function of this position. This position reports to the site Director of Operations.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Simultaneously managing all aspects and resources of multiple capital projects from inception through completion.

  • Developing and achieving detailed objectives, technically sound and innovative solutions and standards to meet all project deadlines & deliverables.

  • Manage projects through stages of writing project descriptions, project scopes, RFQs, and gathering quotes.

  • Managing capital appropriation for assigned projects.

  • Preparing cost/benefit analysis to justify and support project approvals/spending.

  • Tracking budget, actual spending, commitments, and forecasts.

  • Estimate and track project schedules, monitoring and correcting as necessary.

  • Lead technical discussions/support in the specification, acquisition, installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of manufacturing equipment to include facilitating disposal of obsolete equipment.

  • Interface with and manage vendors, contractors and suppliers for cost effectiveness.

  • Display a thorough working knowledge of buildings and trades.

  • Assist other departments and complete other duties as assigned.

  • Oversee the Contractor Management program.

  • Participate in CI / ACE activities.

  • Maintain a high commitment to quality, thoroughness and efficiency in all work aspects and meet all project deadlines/due dates.

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and an organized, customer driven approach. Observe and follow all quality, environmental, health and safety procedures.

Qualification:

  • 10+ years of experience managing multiple construction projects from the evaluation through implementation stages.

  • 10 years experience with Comprehension of complex process and facilities problems, apply creativity and drive towards problem resolution.

  • Experience in the design and construction of projects for manufacturing facilities. Experience with large projects in an active manufacturing facility is preferred.

  • Experience in management of multi-disciplinary engineering design teams.

  • Experience in construction management of $4M+ projects.

  • Experience with WAC, WA OSHA Standards and Safety methods and building codes.

  • Ability to read Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), drawings and blueprints.

  • Ability to work in a self-directed capacity while managing multiple projects.

  • Extensive problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Solid planning, organizing, and communication skills.

  • Strong ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of business applications software such as the MS Office products.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple resources and coordinate people and schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Project Management Software (MS Project/Primavera)

  • AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required.

  • Experience managing projects in the process chemical manufacturing industry.

  • Experience interpreting and modifying P&IDs, PFDs & electrical drawings.

  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field (i.e.-Construction Management, Industrial Engineering)

PREFERRED

  • Project Management Profession certification preferred.

  • Professional Engineering license preferred.
