JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Improve performance of attributed key suppliers using UTAS continuous improvement program.

  • Use UTAS continuous improvement tools to diagnose weaknesses, establish gap closure plan and reach Best-In-Class performance and maturity level for our suppliers.

  • Conduct periodic performance reviews at suppliers for the purpose of driving down escapes, Parts Per Million (PPM) and overdue deliveries.

  • Train and support supplier with necessary lean transformation activities such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen, Set-up Reduction, etc.

  • Perform Manufacturing Process Reviews with cross functional team to risk mitigate processes and validate conformity to requirements.

  • Assess and risk mitigate supplier capacity readiness by understanding UTAS program needs, engaging key stakeholders, performing assessment, establishing and tracking action plan.

  • Support Quality Clinic system implementation and associated major investigations.

  • Provide UTAS Business Units on-site support to major Delivery/Quality issues.

  • Manage supplier relationship to gain and maintain appropriate level of engagement.

  • Ensure coordination with other UTAS functions such as Quality representatives, Manufacturing Engineers, Transition Managers etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5 years’ of relevant experience

  • Well-verse in aerospace regulations, requirements, operating environment and related constraints, such as AS9100 and UTAS Supplier requirements

  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing (Green or Black belt certification will be a plus)

  • Ability to diagnose major inefficiencies of a manufacturing shop

  • Strong at demonstrating to a team the necessary changes/improvement needed

  • At ease of deploying lean tools in manufacturing environment

  • Ability to drive action plans rigorously to closure and maintain standard procedures for all processes

  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organisation

  • Experience in leading VSM / Kaizen events

  • Open to frequent travel of more than 50%, to Asian countries from Indonesia to Japan. May require extended stay at suppliers’ offices.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with supplier development & part transition experience.

  • Related qualifications such as Customer Quality Engineer (CQE)/ Customer Quality Assurance (CQA), AS9100 Auditor training and experience will be a plus.
