Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality, and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the activities of the assigned manufacturing facilitators.

  • Lead facilitators and assigned cell team members with respect to production volume, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates, while maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of facilitator and production employees.

  • Initiate cross training and initial training programs that encompass all aspects of the manufacturing inspection and test functions to expand and improve coverage and personnel qualifications.

  • Develop manpower planning and utilization programs to satisfy actual and projected requirements. Includes the scheduling of overtime and the cost-effective use of temporary services.

  • Assist cell teams in achieving and maintaining cell key metric goals.

  • Confer with the Operations Support Manager and Production Planners to establish a working schedule for all departments connected with the production.

  • Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.

  • Recommend the hiring and releasing of production personnel as required to maintain production schedule.

  • Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.

  • Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained.

  • Maintain good employee relations.

  • Keeps records/statistics of departmental activities, as required.

  • Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.

  • Utilize Lean and ACE tools to drive continuous improvement in the operation.

  • Responsible for talent development of both direct and indirect reports assigned to their organization.

Qualifications:

  • Previous management experience within a manufacturing environment or equivalent is required for this role.

  • Candidate must be knowledgeable on Materials and Logistics processes.

  • Experience managing diverse work groups that include exempt and hourly employees.

  • Proven record of driven positive business results while complying with aggressive deadlines and customer demands.

  • Excellent people management and communication skills with public speaking experience are required for this role.

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English languages.

  • Experience applying Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and/or other process improvements philosophies.

  • Possess high energy and drive with above average analytical skills with proven decision-making experience under a high-pressure environment.

  • Display strong leadership skills with high levels of emotional intelligence and have the ability of self-motivation.

  • Demonstrated Teamwork and Teambuilding abilities with a successful track.

  • Ability to work in a challenging and dynamic environment with shifting priorities and a sense of urgency.

  • Availability to work extended hours including weekends and Holidays.
