This individual will provide support for Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts and coaching for Site Leadership/employees in their pursuit of UTC's Lean Program and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) progression. This individual will help the business develop improvements to strategy, policy deployment, standard work and best practices through the use of recognized CI tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understands business needs and identifies opportunities for improvement through the use of ACE and continuous improvement tools in order to achieve and exceed business targets and performance.

  • Work with prioritized functional areas to assess current ACE status, recommend improvements using the ACE tools, and progress the ACE maturity of the processes.

  • Leads/co-leads/facilitates or participates in Continuous Improvement events identifies metrics for improvement and follows the events through the implementation phase.

  • Drive site-wide implementation and utilization of the ACE Portal system as well as a link to the shop floor management system.

  • Champions change and continuous improvement and facilitate the development and implementation of ACE strategies supporting aggressive business goals.

  • Continually identifies improvement opportunities and provides creative and thoughtful input to improve processes, methods, and products.

  • Recognized as an expert in the latest ACE tools and applies hands-on education, training, and application of ACE principles and tools to increase proficiencies across the site as well as enhance the ACE culture.

  • Adhere to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct.

  • Make areas Lean Transformation; Perform VSM, Cell Design, 3P, Shop Floor Management, percent Load, Standard Work Combination Sheets, Standard Work Sheets and provide Truck Factory Trainings.

  • Implement visual controls in manufacturing areas.

  • Support Material presentation initiatives and shadow boxes implementation.

  • Helps us drive the Lean Transformation Culture through the site.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a corporate and/or manufacturing environment, including successful implementation of continuous improvement activities.

  • Excellent computer skills, including skill in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to interface with employees at all levels of the organization with diplomacy and tact.

  • Ability to lead change and direct others towards ACE/Lean goals and objectives.

  • Ability to effectively provide ACE/Lean training.

  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.

  • Strong personal commitment to ACE/Lean principles with a bias for action.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience required, or

  • Master's Degree with 2+ years experience.
