Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

The Engine Systems (ESM) business unit has an opportunity for an Operations Supervisor, who is responsible for leading a team to meet daily business objectives, as well as drive continuous improvement in production processes, performance and culture. This position supervises entry and intermediate professional level employees or team leaders of production employees and sets day-to-day goals. Manages cell productivity and guides scheduling, sequencing of work, and production innovation to optimize production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for shop floor employees in assembly and test functions, including daily production requirements, engineering and quality clinic support, talent development, cross training, employee engagement, and performance management

  • Coordinate with Operations Leads to provide delivery commits for critical customer needs

  • Monitor and ensure efficient utilization of resources and equipment

  • Drive on-time delivery performance

  • Drive daily tiered-level shop floor management process

  • Create and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance to ITC and EH&S policies, and execution of improvement targets

  • Drive process, quality and cost improvements utilizing the ACE tools, and support the site Lean Transformation objectives

  • Monitor and drive adherence to safety, ethics and quality rules, policies and procedures

  • Ensures all quality related items for multiple cells are complete and documented to meet established quality standards

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 year supervisory experience

  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma

  • Ability to create reports and basic presentations in Microsoft Excel and Power Point

  • Experience with HR policies such as employee reviews, attendance policies, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an operations or manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience in a union environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively both with direct reports and management

  • Ability to hold self and others accountable for meeting objectives

  • Ability to determine root cause, define and implement corrective action, and sustain results

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree with relevant specialized knowledge required

  • Master's Degree preferred
