Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leading the management of requirements utilizing DOORS tool

  • Leading the decomposition of customer requirements and aid in the allocation of the requirements to the appropriate components and subsystems.

  • Setting availability targets, allocation to the subsystems and components, determine feature sensitivity to variation and failure modes and determine mitigation plans to improve reliability targets.

  • Ensuring functional and safety requirements align with system requirements

  • Supporting the development, release, and management of System Technical Specifications.

  • Participation in reliability engineering, such as Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis, and System Safety Hazards Assessments

  • Collaborating with teams on V&V plan

  • Working with subsystem and component teams to optimize system design

  • Supporting and leading as necessary project teams ensuring scope change is identified, documented and approved.

  • Utilizing the UTAS product introduction tools and systems on projects

  • Leading collaboration with geographically dispersed engineering teams globally and domestically

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree 7 years

  • MS Degree 5 years

  • Experience in new product development of complex mechanical and or electro/mechanical commercial aerospace systems.

  • Experience utilizing DOORS to define and manage requirements.

  • Experience in the decomposition of customer requirements and allocation of the requirements to the appropriate components and subsystems.

  • Advanced knowledge of Reliability and Maintainability studies, FMEAs, and other Systems Engineering tools.

  • Understands technical deliverables and challenges of developing and certifying products for commercial aircraft.

  • Advanced knowledge of requirements management and change control and configuration management.

  • Ability to support multiple projects ensuring customer requirements are met, support scope management, and work with project teams to ensure internal and external customers are satisfied

  • Knowledge of TSO certification requirements and Commercial Aerospace Systems Certification requirements.

  • Mechanical systems background preferred.

  • Leadership skills

  • Ability to solve difficult and complex problems

  • Ability to work with limited oversight from manager

  • Ability to influence parties within and outside of function

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize both daily issues and longer-term projects

Education:

  • BS or MS in Systems Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

  • INCOSE Certified or working towards certification.
