Role Overview

This position is for an Experienced Supply Chain professional, who monitors supplier performance, conducts on site assessments, and engages suppliers in issue resolution. Utilizes Supplier Development Playbook and monitors and analyzes key performance indicators to drive improvement in collaboration with suppliers.

UTC Supplier Gold is a supplier performance and recognition program established in 2008 to facilitate and accelerate supplier performance. Supplier Gold applies to all UTC Aerospace and commercial business units and suppliers that deliver product or services to any organization within the UTC family of companies. Currently, approximately 2,800 key and critical suppliers are engaged in the program, equating to nearly 80% of total product spend.

The Supplier Performance Specialist (SPS) will be the primary point of contact for initial escalated issues related to performance trends (quality, delivery, material replenishment strategy) and development needs of suppliers. The SPS will be a vital link between site customers, the regional office support team, commodity management and the supply base to monitor supplier performance and facilitate overall improvement by ensuring sustainable countermeasures and corrective actions. The SPS will support supplier sourcing strategy and relationship improvement through data analysis, cross-functional collaboration and related development support. The SPS will facilitate and conduct Supplier Health Assessments (SHA), Supplier Readiness Assessment (SRA) planning/completion and facilitate the Supplier Development Prioritization Matrix (SDPM) process.

The Delivery Assurance Specialist (DAS) will be the primary point of contact for all escalated issues related to the delivery of product. The DAS will be a vital link between site customers, the regional office delivery assurance team, and the supply base. The DAS will support requests for on-site support to improve delivery performance; and facilitate tracking, validating, expediting and reporting real time part delivery status. The DAS will work closely with the procurement team to ensure alignment and actions supporting material flow to required demand. The DAS will work with the sites and Regional Office teams to coordinate supplier related delivery assurance activities. The DAS will be responsible for tracking and communicating status for all escalated critical parts to closure (tracking information).

Primary Responsibilities:

 Business SDPM Process Owner

 Business SRA Planning/Administration/Tracking Owner – may complete SRA(s) for the business as needed; For Work Transfer, New Product Introduction and rate increases, conduct and participate in Production Readiness assessments including capacity confirmation to ensure a timely ramp-up to production volumes

 Supplier Gold Progression Support

 Workflow Administration – supplier development requests (SRA, SHA, CBR, DIVE, other SDE Support)

 Work with the supplier to complete the Supplier Health Assessment (SHA), review and validate objective evidence and assist in closing gaps

 Coordinate and lead efforts to address chronic supplier performance issues and/or validation of suppliers

 Liaise and provide regular report outs to the Business Unit Supplier Quality &Supplier Performance Leads to ensure proper resource allocation to close gaps, and ensure suppliers are meeting quality, delivery & customer satisfaction (MFA) criteria

 Monitor supplier performance, and facilitate improvement by applying sustainable countermeasures and actions, and working with suppliers to manage supplier Sustainable Improvement Plan (SIP)

 Train and develop selected suppliers to deliver their own self-sustaining improvement activities

 Provide training to Supplier on Quality and Delivery Clinic and ensure closeout of gap actions to achieve Clinic implementation

 Develop and continually improve relationships across the supply chain, working closely with internal and external stakeholders

 Support Commodity Strategy through the implementation of best practice tools & techniques at key/critical suppliers and educate, develop & train these suppliers in best practice tools/techniques

 Implement and monitor best practice development worldwide and share this knowledge throughout UTC and the supply chain community

 Proactive monitoring of parts supporting and impacting on-time delivery to our customers

 Driving actions to mitigate potential delivery delays including identifying risks, performing root cause analysis, and development of recovery plans to bring shipments back in line with customer requirements

 DA Tracker administration /status reporting and coordination/communication of information to key site stakeholders

 Ensuring the validation of supplier production alignment through the use of related tools (Line of Balance, WIP Tracker)

 Determining when on-site support is required and coordinating/executing such support

 Driving continuous improvement efforts (DIVE, RRCA, Process Improvements); aligned to Regional Office development activities

 Supporting the supply chain at all site/BU escalation meetings; managing and reporting related DA Metrics as required; prepare presentations and lead related meetings

 Coordinating premium logistics solutions with suppliers (premium workflow)

 Related workflow administration and coordination of service

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

 Experience in Supply Chain/Quality/ Procurement /Production Engineering/Operations/ or related experiences; Aerospace experience a plus

 Experience building supplier relationships and successfully executing supplier development initiatives and leading change implementation

 Advanced problem solving skills

 Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to:

o communicate verbally and in writing at all levels internally and externally

o think outside of the box and execute

 Computer literacy including competence in Microsoft Office

 Ability to travel within your area of responsibility (up to 50%) of the time

 Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving skills; Lean Six Sigma; Delivery Assurance Tools (WIP Tracker, LOB)

 Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

 Ability to develop strong working relationships

 ERP/MRP Experience

 Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related degree

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
