Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Established in 1985, the UTC Aerospace Systems Phoenix Operations products and services consist of final assembly, test, and integration of electronic controls for commercial and military aircraft with an embedded Repair organization. One of our major strategic initiatives entails becoming a manufacturing center of excellence with Lean Transformation taking us from ACE Silver to Gold 12.0 status within the near future. We have content in over 60,000 aircrafts and we are AS9100 certified; ISO 9001: 2000; CAAC; EASA; and FAA approved. We have received OSHA VPP status and was recently recognized for passing 12 million hours without lost-time injury. We are looking to add a talented and forward-thinking Sr Manufacturing Engineer to our Team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects

  • Lead and implement safe work practices and environment

  • Engineering support for electronic end-item assembly and test

  • Manage, Create and Maintain Standard work Instructions

  • Manage Engineering changes into work packages

  • Work with Design Engineering to improve producibility/ease manufacture of product

  • Manage & Create standard visual work instructions using various software packages

  • Lead team projects such as Control Builds, QCPC projects. Support of production floor and ACE/Continuous Improvement projects involving lean manufacturing implementation

  • Interpret and apply International Trade Compliance requirements per policy

  • Strong focus on maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction and quality.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years related experience required or Master's degree with 3 years experience required

  • Manufacturing, electronics or aerospace experience preferred

  • Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings Ability to support development of Assembly Instructions, routings and time standards

  • Able to work with Microsoft Office and with manufacturing engineering software (e.g. CorelDraw, Solumina and CAD/CAM software); MS Access experience is a plus.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, internal & external customers

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment Effective use of problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

  • Able to work with manufacturing programs such as SAP, Visio, Solumina

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New product introduction and development

  • Tooling and fixture design

  • Support of automated and semi-automated processes

  • Experience with PWA/end item production/customer return upgrades

Education:

  • Bachelors' degree required

  • Engineering discipline degree strongly preferred

  • Master's degree a plus
