The Phoenix evacuation systems facility is looking for a new operations supervisor to join their team. This role is essential to our every day operations because this person helps lead our most valuable resource in producing a quality product designed to assist in saving lives during aircraft emergencies. The operations supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining an engaged workforce, developing his/her team to perform at their best, remove obstacles for their teams to create high quality evacuation slides on time and within budget.

As an operations supervisor you will also:

  • Coach, develop, train, and evaluate/monitor the performance of employees who report to maintain a productive and engaged workforce.

  • Provide day to day direction to teams.

  • Plan and schedule direct and indirect labor workflow and organizes teams to meet productions schedules

  • Evaluate and resolve conflicts/issues that may arise throughout the production process

  • Ensure team conformance to all federal, state, local and company policies and procedures

  • Troubleshoot and solve production issues

  • Initiate and recommend objectives/goals for employees to set expectations, and evaluates employee performance against those goals and objectives

  • Identify and implement process improvements to current production process

  • Generate reports and information relating to team metrics and production results; communicates results with management and employees

  • Champion the organization’s continuous improvement initiatives and drives improvements within the production cell

  • Communicate with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments

  • Demonstrate equipment operations, work and safety procedures to new employees or assigns employees to experienced workers for training

  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, work instructions and company policies and procedures for workers

Qualification:

  • Must be able to obtain ATF clearance for handling explosives..

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.

  • Experience working with continuous improvement methods preferred.

Beneficial soft skills for this role but not required:

  • Adaptability and flexibility

  • Basic product knowledge.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.

  • Good organization skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

  • Basic computer knowledge, preferable in MS Office.

  • Ability to resolve conflicts.

  • Ability to remain patient and use sound judgment amidst rapid change

Working Environment:

  • This position will primarily work in in office environment located on the production floor with a moderate noise level.

  • This position does require standing and walking up to 80% of the time. Bending, stooping, kneeling and leaning may be required up to 40% of the time.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related to our core business functions such as business administration, organization development, engineering, management, international business, human resources, etc.
