This position manages a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Materials Planning and SIOP. Executes operational plans that include storing and shipping of products, executing activities, responding to complex inquiries, and ensuring quality of work. Leads in the development of inventory control reports and manuals.
Leads Shipping/Receiving, Planning, and Supermarket Team to:
Coordinates with material coordinators to ensure inventory goals and targets are being met. Provides regular and timely reports and interpretation of results to leadership and employees. Works towards the elimination of the annual physical inventory.
Champions, measures, and drives inventory accuracy and reduction within the supermarket through the use of process improvements, visual controls, and partnerships with other functional areas.
Develops a highly-effective materials planning organization and supports efforts to standardize material planning and scheduling to improve customer service and reduce lead-time.
Optimizes scheduling and production flow within the manufacturing facility through the utilization of world-class SIOP practices, level loading, and Lean/Six-Sigma tools.
Ensures all materials project milestones are achieved within identified and documented time, budget, and performance expectations.
Responsible for support, development, maintenance and reporting of Site Materials Management metrics and providing site-specific countermeasures to ensure adherence to goals.
Supports various inventory control measures utilizing Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes.
Evaluates, develops, and/or implements standards and procedures for materials project management methodology, practices, procedures, and tools.
Monitors and reports the status of all projects to materials management staff, project sponsors, clients and other stakeholders.
Utilizes SAP to monitor production and business data and to drive procurement/manufacturing requirements.
Collaborates with various functional areas, including engineering, supply chain, quality, finance, manufacturing and operations, shipping and receiving, material handling, and others to develop and respond to customer contractual needs and new business opportunities.
Ensures quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures.
Audits work area for safety compliance.
Adheres to all Collins rules and codes of conduct.
Performs other duties as required to ensure project success and improvement to Evacuation Systems product development processes.
Thorough understanding of Materials Management and Supply Chain concepts and their financial impacts (inventory turns, cash flow, working capital, etc.).
Relevant ERP and/or MRP system experience required. SAP preferred.
Experience in development and management of kanbans, supermarkets, and vendor managed inventory preferred.
Experience leading deployment of Process Excellence / Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) across multiple sites is required
Analytical Problem Solving: Able to identify problems, apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root cause using date and design barrier to eliminate or alert error in the process. Deploying innovative and effective solutions resulting in risk mitigation and improved execution
Demonstrate qualified lean Materials /Operations experience in a leadership role
Demonstrated working knowledge and management of inventory control analysis and production control techniques
Ability to work independently or as part of an integrated project team.
Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills and prioritize both daily issues and long-term projects.

Work Environment/Other Position Requirements:
Office environment or office environment on production floor.
Occasional need to be on production floor, requiring safety glasses, and ability to stand for long periods.
Domestic and international travel up to 10%.
Ability to input, access, retrieve, and send information via computer.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
