This position supports multiple departments including: Production, Procurement, Product Support, Scheduling, Quality, and External Customers. The responsible individual participates in engineering support activities in all of these areas, provides technical expertise, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance to company, customer and government standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports advancement and improvement of cell operations by applying lean manufacturing principles and functioning as a change advocate in identifying opportunities for process improvements, and facilitating or leading Kaizen events.

  • Explores new processes and equipment to realize cost savings on new and existing product lines.

  • Prepares and presents key production results to management.

  • Manages and implements necessary and beneficial ergonomic improvements to the area.

  • Supports Operations to maintain product flow by:

  • Providing technical assistance to production operators,

  • Clarifies and corrects work instructions as necessary,

  • Investigates and resolves technical production problems,

  • Ensure that production personnel have the necessary documents and tools required to build quality products,

  • Controls manufacturing documentation including BOM’s and routings, and

  • Initiates engineering change notices in the ME area.

  • Reviews technical merit of the changes along with FAA and customer compliance.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Adaptable in high stress situations.

  • Team player.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.) with 0-2+ years experience, or

  • Master's Degree with 0-2+ years experience.
