Description:

In this position you will be reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. As the Tooling Data Management Specialist you will be responsible for managing new and existing tooling in order to support the Machine Shop on the afternoon shift.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage changes, repairs and improvements to existing tooling.

  • Developing new machining processes and modifying existing machining processes/practices.

  • Setup tooling packages for the machine shop.

  • Managing the Continuous Improvement efforts in Tooling.

  • Investigating tooling that is available for machining processes.

  • Developing special design tools and signing off on custom tooling.

  • Dealing with vendors in order to purchase various tools for the machine shop.

  • Ability to 3D Design in one of the following software -- Catia V5, Unigraphics, Solid Edge

  • Track and implement cost savings ideas for Tooling and track tooling performance

  • Must be proficient in various CAD/CAM software including Mastercam, Catia V5, Tebis etc.

  • Previous experience using SAP or other related ERP systems.

  • Previous experience in managing relationships with vendors.

  • Must be proficient in using Excel, Outlook and Word software.

Requirements:

  • College Diploma in a related technical discipline.

  • Certified and Licensed Machinist or Tool & Die Maker.

  • Must be able to read blueprints/drawings.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be willing to work the afternoon shift (Monday to Friday 3pm to 11pm)
