JOB SUMMARY

Typical tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and productively while providing multi-discipline engineering support to facilities operations and maintenance

  • Contribute to long-term strategic development of a complex engineering project or function area

  • Organize and provide written and/or verbal presentations of work with minimum input from supervisor

  • Build credibility within group by performing high quality work

  • Demonstrates willingness to assist others with problems

  • Effectively communicates results of work at technical meetings

  • Meets and communicates with team management and members to assure proper dissemination of information throughout the department and site, as necessary

  • Supports facilities, MTS and maintenance operations to ensure that all equipment is adequately maintained and functions efficiently

  • Identifies new contractors to work at the facility and assures compliance to the procedures

  • Designs and writes technical specifications and prepares detailed instructions for the fabrication and installation of plant equipment and related machinery

  • Prepares capital requests for projects

  • Expected to successfully execute projects. The individual deals with problems of increased complexity requiring considerable modification of techniques and applications of new theories. Must be able to engage other disciplines

  • Coordinates start-up and commissioning of new equipment and/or facilities

  • Coordinates, tests and troubleshoots new installations

  • Evaluates and prepares economic studies of new or modification to the facilities

Qualification:

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of related experience or 7+ years of related experience with completed technical certificate/post-secondary degree in related field

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong engineering background

  • High level organizational, interpersonal and computer skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize multiple commitments and solve technical problems Working knowledge of Microsoft Office projects

  • Working knowledge of Auto CAD

  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70e, NFPA 79, and OSHA construction standards

Education:

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of related experience or 7+ years of related experience with completed technical certificate/post-secondary degree in related field

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma

  • College degree preferred
