Role Overview

This position is for a Seasoned Quality Compliance professional. Works as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of responsibility. May manage Quality Compliance processes and/or projects. Uses experience and knowledge to influence processes, standards, and plans to improve compliance with internal and external standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with procedures for the receipt, inspection, and storage of parts used in the overhaul and repair of components handled in the repair station.

  • Promotes aviation safety by ensuring airworthy and quality aircraft maintenance and serves as liaison between FAA and Repair Station.

  • Develops and maintains approved FAA accepted Repair Station/Quality Control Manual (RSM/QCM) and Training Manual.

  • Assures all FAA, other federal regulations, and state and local laws are adhered to, as applicable.

  • Develops and administers the company’s quality systems.

  • Develops plans for continuous improvement of quality.

  • Administers Vendor Audit Programs.

  • Ensures Customer Technical Data, state and federal regulatory guidance and repair station policies and procedures are maintained in current status and made available to all repair station personnel and others, as required.

  • Ensure that processes needed for the quality management system are establish, implemented, and maintained.

  • Responsible for the Corrective Action Program.

  • Responsible for approval, addition and/or deletion of Approved Supplier List.

  • Controls Inspector/Production/Training Stamp program and maintains the Repair Station rosters.

  • Determines criteria used for Repairman eligibility, such as testing, performance evaluations etc.

  • Maintains Summaries of Employment for all management, inspection and certificated personnel.

  • Monitors performance and attendance of Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel.

  • Ensures that employee assigned to perform each task have documented training to meet all Repair Station, Customer, Federal, State and Local training requirements.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of working knowledge of FAA & AS9100 regulatory requirements

  • Prior experience as a Chief Inspector is preferred

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and or CQE preferred

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and common repair practices

  • Root cause investigation and analysis basic knowledge

  • Familiarity with compliance to engineering technical data for aircraft components

  • Experience in AS9100 with working knowledge of internal auditing

  • The individual must be highly responsive to internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail

  • Must have strong technical writing skills and a strong work ethic with demonstrated leadership, business judgment, innovation, teaming skills, and communication skills

  • Stress tolerant to a fast paced, results oriented environment

  • Dedicated, team player

  • Fact based planner/problem solver

  • Applies process knowledge to day-to-day decisions and engages troubleshooting techniques to process knowledge

  • Well-versed in current safety policies and procedures

  • Ability to clearly communicate with all internal and external customers in English to include the ability to read and interpret company documents, such as, safety rules, operating / manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
