RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Read and understand Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials, ECO's and Assembly Processes

  2. Assemble mechanical parts into complex finished products using many different types of tools and assembly process equipment

  3. Knowledge and use of a variety of different chemicals used in the assembly process

  4. Use of computer workstations for record-keeping and testing purposes

  5. Perform basic electronic testing on final assemblies using various test equipment

  6. Become cross-trained on multiple functions and products within the department

  7. Perform quality control inspection functions as part of an ongoing effort to insure the highest quality products are being shipped to our customers

  8. Adaptability towards a variety of manufacturing processes and technologies

  9. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis

  10. Maintain a neat work area following 5S guidelines

  11. Follow ACE and EH and S practices according to Det-Tronics/UTC policy

  12. Actively participate in safety, quality and productivity improvement activities

  13. Complete other tasks as assigned

Qualification:

  • One or more years of electro-mechanical assembly experience

  • Must be able to effectively speak, read, and write in English

  • Able to read and understand English prints, drawings, BOM's, and process instructions

  • Good dexterity with small hand tools and a strong mechanical aptitude

  • Must be a self-motivated, team-oriented individual who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

  • Must possess good organizational and communication skills

  • Cannot be color-blind

  • Must be able to perform essential job functions safely and work within established company guidelines

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
