Do you have the experience we are looking for?

We are looking for a dedicated individual to work with us as we maintain the highest standards of our industry. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide timely work scope definitions for engine and/or module repair that are comprehensive, clear, concise, cost effective, and meets customer-defined requirements

  • Read and provide interpretation of Engine Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, Standard Practice Manual, Blueprints and Component Maintenance Manuals as necessary to support production

  • Provide disposition to work requests/work package changes using standard work processes and approved technical references for released work control documents

  • Create and maintain travelers and work instructions for new parts and assemblies as well as modifications to existing products

  • Perform Six-sigma and lean engineering analyses to improve product/process development and sustain production

  • Perform root cause and corrective action on parts and processes that are not in control

  • Develop and/or utilize robust standard work and desk procedures for HMC engineering processes

  • Participate in or lead teams, committees, events and training that improve the HMC organization and support achieving Cell and Site process improvement objectives

  • Perform gage R & R studies and process control as required

  • Participate in or lead teams reviewing and investigating deficient material or product quality deficiencies; write thorough, concise and technically sound reports as required

  • Perform line management of 8-10 engineers and planners

  • Train, mentor and coach other team members in technical and process matters

  • Review and approve timecards, expense reports, and travel authorizations

  • Ensure compliance of direct reports with all UTC Quality, ITC, E&C, and EH&S policies

  • Evaluate and assign merit increases and bonuses/special awards in accordance with UTC policies

  • Perform any other related functions or support other MRO production lines as required by management to ensure the success of the enterprise

  • Manage and approve time off for employees

  • You are willing to work 1st (0700-1600) or 2nd (1500-2400) shift and work extra time as necessary to ensure completion of your tasks

  • Travel and over time may be required

Education/Certifications:

  • BA/BS degree

  • Preferred BS/MS degree in an Engineering Discipline (Engineering Technology degrees accepted)

Experience/Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Engineering

  • 1+ years leading a team

  • U.S. Citizen due to federal contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Infor is a definite plus

  • Ability to read, understand, refer to and interpret Geometric, Dimensioning, and Tolerancing (GD&T) dimensioning and third view projection blueprints

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings

  • The ability to work in multi-functional teams on a wide variety of tasks and with limited supervision

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in giving performance feedback to employees

  • Experience in Aviation
