Do you have the experience we are looking for?
We are looking for a dedicated individual to work with us as we maintain the highest standards of our industry. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide timely work scope definitions for engine and/or module repair that are comprehensive, clear, concise, cost effective, and meets customer-defined requirements
Read and provide interpretation of Engine Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, Standard Practice Manual, Blueprints and Component Maintenance Manuals as necessary to support production
Provide disposition to work requests/work package changes using standard work processes and approved technical references for released work control documents
Create and maintain travelers and work instructions for new parts and assemblies as well as modifications to existing products
Perform Six-sigma and lean engineering analyses to improve product/process development and sustain production
Perform root cause and corrective action on parts and processes that are not in control
Develop and/or utilize robust standard work and desk procedures for HMC engineering processes
Participate in or lead teams, committees, events and training that improve the HMC organization and support achieving Cell and Site process improvement objectives
Perform gage R & R studies and process control as required
Participate in or lead teams reviewing and investigating deficient material or product quality deficiencies; write thorough, concise and technically sound reports as required
Perform line management of 8-10 engineers and planners
Train, mentor and coach other team members in technical and process matters
Review and approve timecards, expense reports, and travel authorizations
Ensure compliance of direct reports with all UTC Quality, ITC, E&C, and EH&S policies
Evaluate and assign merit increases and bonuses/special awards in accordance with UTC policies
Perform any other related functions or support other MRO production lines as required by management to ensure the success of the enterprise
Manage and approve time off for employees
You are willing to work 1st (0700-1600) or 2nd (1500-2400) shift and work extra time as necessary to ensure completion of your tasks
Travel and over time may be required
Preferred BS/MS degree in an Engineering Discipline (Engineering Technology degrees accepted)
5+ years experience in Engineering
1+ years leading a team
U.S. Citizen due to federal contracts
Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments
Experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Infor is a definite plus
Ability to read, understand, refer to and interpret Geometric, Dimensioning, and Tolerancing (GD&T) dimensioning and third view projection blueprints
Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
The ability to work in multi-functional teams on a wide variety of tasks and with limited supervision
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in giving performance feedback to employees
Experience in Aviation
