Heavy Maintenance Center- Materials Manager
The Pratt & Whitney Oklahoma City HMC Materials Manager will be responsible for management of a team of Material Analysts and logistics providers to meet HMC production requirements. The Material Manager will work with the team to manage and track parts within the HMC; launch repair parts; resolve part shortages; resolve SAP issues; and prioritize logistics and kitting to ensure the production schedule is
The position is responsible for assisting with parts reconciliation in a timely, complete and accurate manner and will be responsible for assisting with the expediting of materials in support of repair and the Heavy Maintenance Center (HMC) operations.
The Material Manager will report directly to the HMC Operations Manager.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to the HMC by applying Material Management and Supply Chain Management knowledge
Coordinate with Unit Chiefs and HMC staff to adapt to current conditions and meet HMC business requirements
Monitor the operations gated process of material movement to meet production schedules
Reporting on materials and logistics performance
Revise and adapt plans as required to fluid situations
Interface and prioritize activities of the 3PL supplier
Interface and prioritize activities of the Eagle Supply and LPM team members, including coordination and follow up with item managers to ensure material is supportable
Coordinate with SAP power user to resolve SAP issues
Lead projects within a functional or operational unit
Participate in teams, committees, events and training that improve the HMC organization and support achieving Cell and Site ACE objectives
Develop, train, maintain, and enforce standard work for the areas under their responsibility
Management of staff
Directly supervise hourly, exempt, or nonexempt individual contributors
Submit and manage non-product orders for the HMC
Manage non-product material levels required to support the HMC
- BA/BS degree required, MA/MS preferred
Bachelor’s degree required and 4 + years’ experience in logistics or Master’s degree with 2+ years’ experience in logistics
4+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Outlook and Excel
1+ year experience demonstrating commitment to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, procedures and best practices
US Citizenship required due to government contracts
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Prior material scheduling experience in an aerospace MRO (maintenance, repair & overhaul) environment
Experience leading and participating in teams to achieve successfulresults
The ability to work in a start-up environment with flexible roles and responsibilities, limited formal training and firm deliverable
Prefer experience as a day-to-day user of SAP, entering transactions andrunning reports
Successful candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision on a wide variety of tasks
2nd shift and alternate work schedule may be required
Candidate may be required to support non-standard shifts as required to meet business goals
Successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training and supporting all EH&S committee activities
Minimal travel may be required
Successful candidate will participate in achieving and sustaining ACE Gold for the HMC.
