We are seeking a highly motivated, high energy, self-directing, and technically talented individual, who has a true desire to lead and coach in a dynamic operations environment to support our Middletown Product Delivery Center (PDC) quality team in the inspection and delivery of high quality engines.

In this role you will be responsible for overall management of a team of hourly inspectors tasked with the quality assurance of our military and commercial engine products, as well as act our organization's assembly area FOD Focal.

As part of the PDC quality team, you will be part of the manufacturing operations group responsible for the assembly and testing of our new engine programs including the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and the Next Generation Part Family (NGPF). You will also serve as a focal point that collaborates with Engineering, Customer Support, Procurement, and other functional disciplines driving all floor quality issues to resolution.

This position requires innovative ways to problem solving, the capability to develop timely action plans for resolution, and the ability to coordinate implementation of corrective actions.

3rd Shift Working Hours: Monday – Friday 11pm to 7am

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement plans to support the business objectives and metrics in regards to safety, quality, delivery, and financial performance

  • Maintain a perfect Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) record by creating a safe working culture

  • Attend customer production meetings, set-priorities, contingency plan around roadblocks, and report out on shift results and accomplishments

  • Lead process improvement opportunities using ACE and Lean Strategies to enhance quality and on-time delivery while reducing operational costs

  • Coach employees to develop a highly motivated and effective team

  • Lead all aspects of assigned hourly workforce including time & attendance, rewards, and communication

  • Provide technical support on issues within the assembly and test process at the PDC for commercial and military programs, customer returns, and various Material Review Board corrective action investigations

  • Provide technical support and maintain a strong working relationship with the engine center team.

  • Investigate and analyze any hardware/assembly concerns causing PDC quality and delivery issues by reviewing procedures, specifications, instructions, processes, and equipment to ensure compliance to applicable drawing, specifications, and standards in an effort to resolve Quality and Delivery concerns.

  • Determine the proper disposition of nonconforming material when participating in the Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

  • Establish and maintain customer relations with respect to the quality for the different engine groups

  • Serve as a liaison to government and customer representatives

Qualification:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline

  • 5+ years experience in a quality discipline

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in an operations environment

  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record in team leadership roles working with hourly employees and strong decision-making skills

  • Clear, concise and effective communicator (written and verbal)

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement principles (lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC, etc.)

  • Experience working with technical engineering data including manufacturing and model drawings

  • Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations requirements and working with government agencies

  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100

  • Ability to work with internal and external customer requirements

  • Strong computer and technical skills; knowledge in quality systems, SAP and Solumina
