Engine Center is seeking an energetic & self-motivated individual to help transform assembly and test operations through the use of Lean Manufacturing strategies.
Manufacturing engineering experience and system level thinking are the backbone of this position that will use the following tools to formulate lean strategies and drive cost reduction activities:
• Value Stream Mapping
• Standard Work
• Setup Reduction
• Root Cause Investigations
• Earned Value Management System
provide focused & effective process engineering leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing component & process quality issues.
identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent process turn-backs /escapes and reduce overall assembly costs.
participate in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives supporting the achievement of ACE GOLD in the MT-CT & WPB-FL Engine Assembly Centers.
provide technical/process assistance and support to the planning, acquisition, and startup of necessary capital, facility, and test equipment needed to meet capacity, engine-build plans, and new engine program introduction and transition to full-rate production loads.
Significant interaction with the hourly work force, tool designers, Quality Assurance, Process Engineering, Test Engineering and Integrated Product Teams are typical of the position as well. Demonstrated knowledge and application of the ACE tools are necessary in order to foster continual process improvement for the Assembly and Test processes.
The incumbent will play a key role in support and implementation of projects that drive improvements in areas of part quality, product cost and overall operations efficiency.
This position will be responsible for coordinating and/or managing project plan activities through Engine Center Optimization standard work
Qualification: 5+ years manufacturing experience or equivalent
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar
