B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Aerospace., is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and we currently have some exciting positions based at our Leighton Buzzard facility, including a Bids & Proposal Officer.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Bids & Proposal Officer will be responsible for management of customer and supplier contracts and implementation of related changes for the A350XWB Galley Program.
Key responsibilities include –
Contribute to managing and controlling contractual change within the A350 XWB program
Execution of the processes relating to the management of customer contracts and implementation of related changes for the A350XWB Galley Program Contract Change
Contribute to managing and controlling the implementation of customer and internally generated change within the program
Be subject matter expert on all contract and related change documents and issues.
Execute all aspects of contract changes including impact analysis, creation of contractual, commercial business case, customer negotiation, administration and subsequent implementation. Specifically:
Communicate with the customer regarding all elements of the contractual changes
Track the progress of the contractual changes and report out the status to the wider stakeholders within the business
Create a manage metrics pertaining to the contractual change process that are clear, concise and actionable if escalation is required
Identify and initiate change requests with customer or suppliers or as requested
Identify and assess all costs, schedule and other commercial and technical impacts related to change requests.
Generate the financial and business case for all contract related changes.
Obtain the required information from engineering, certification, program management, procurement and other stakeholders etc to manage change requests.
Present, negotiate and document the changes to the contract with the customer and internally
Minimise the Gross Margin impact of any changes using the contract as a tool for agreeing the impact of changes
Ensure all changes are reflected within contracts with suppliers and customer.
To respond to all change requests within 30 days.
Participate in the tracking meeting with the customer to ensure an accurate status of all changes are documented
Prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines and able to provide relevant management information.
Setting expectations and agreeing response time with internal teams to meet customer expectations
The successful candidate will have the following –
Educated to Degree level or equivalent
Experience of working with complex technical and engineering issues and leading technical teams.
Strong problem solving skills
Program management, including change management
Working with commercial contracts, on a long term project / program basis
Identification of financial impact from the technical solutions
Business case modelling
Must be capable of handling commercial negotiations with Customers and Suppliers
Must be able to form effective partnerships with Customers/Suppliers
Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite,, Microsoft Project, JDE)
Flexible and able to work to changing deadlines
Ability to work autonomously and able to set priorities of own work and the work of internal stakeholders
Ability to manage and coordinate cross functional departments
Understanding of engineering, procurement and commercial dependencies
Ability to plan and manage priorities such to ensure timely receipt of inputs and responses
