We have a rare opportunity for a Quality Engineer in Lansing, MI. In support of operations expansion at Pratt & Whitney Auto Air, you will follow customer requirements, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies to ensure the production of compliant products.

Job Summary -

  • Review of engineering documentation to ensure it contains the necessary quality assurance and customer provisions and criteria

  • Serve as an issue resolution focal point that works with engineering, customer service support, and operations to drive continuous improvement in products and processes

  • Function as QA focal point for all 3D, non-contact, non-contact scanning techniques

  • Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities

  • Determine the proper disposition of nonconforming material when participating in the Material Review Board (MRB) activities

  • Perform as an integrated team leader with engineering, customer service support, and operations to investigate and correct various quality issues related to internal non-Conformances, product returns, supplier issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests with clear and concise reports to customers

  • Participate on cross-functional team projects to improve the overall organization and to develop a career path and leadership, with coaching and assistance by the Quality Manager This is a 3rd shift position

  • US Citizenship

Qualification:

Required Qualifications -

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, aviation/aerospace, quality, and/or engineering

Preferred Qualifications -

  • Previous operations quality experience in a high-temp environment

  • Computer skills- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Project

  • Possess Excellent Judgement and professional maturity

  • Analytical Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of management and external customers

  • Excellent leadership, communication, prioritization, project management, and multi-tasking skills

  • Results focused work ethic

  • Proficient in problem-solving and statistical analysis using quality tools

  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards

  • Knowledge of Document Control and Calibration systems

  • Ability to query data from SAP and Solumina database systems

  • An active member of ASQ

  • Able to interpret manufacturing drawings and 3D models
