Description:

The Compression Systems Engineering team is looking for Project Engineer. The Engineering organization at Pratt & Whitney is divided into four Module Centers, including Hot Section, Compression Systems, Mechanical Systems and Externals and Product Delivery. The Module Centers are a world-class engineering organization, aligned by component-level hardware in different sections of the jet engine. The four module centers work in tandem to deliver Pratt and Whitney’s trademark Dependable Engines. The project engineer will be located at the P&W AutoAir facility in Lansing, MI. They will support production delivery ramp up of the PurePower® Fan Blades and Structural Guide Vanes.

Level of Responsibility:

Each day, the engineering team is working to improve yield and thru put of Fan Blade Assemblies and Structural Guide Vanes. The Project engineer specific duties will include:

  • Disposition QNs to enable release of hardware with perfect quality

  • Drive Process certification and optimize thru-put

  • Update engineering drawings to ensure (1) detail tolerances enable successful assembly and (2) drawings meet product of the process

  • Harvest blades from MRB and develop repairs

  • Support JAEC Harmonization and EC Incorporation Efforts

  • Support existing cost reduction activities, VE Events, and work to propose new cost reduction ideas

Qualification:

  • Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion

  • Intermediate to advance level skills with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience manipulating large populations of data and summarizing results

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and trending skills

  • Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes

  • Must possess good communication and problem solving skills.

Education: BA/BS degree in Engineering required
