Job Description:

P&W in Middletown, CT is looking for a Material Review Engineer (MRE) for Compression Systems Engineering Hardware. You will support the hardware with design authority in Compression Systems Material Review Board (MRB).

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Your will obtain Material Review Engineer (MRE) certification through mentoring via on the job training (OJT) with a certified MRE and completion of Material Review Board (MRB) classroom training. Certification to be approved by MRE mentor, Engineering Director, Design Chief and MRB Discipline Chief.

•You will develop a clear understanding of P&W MRB procedures to ensure adherence and process compliance.

•You will review and provide technical disposition of commercial Cold Section hardware non-conformances produced internally at P&W and at supplier manufacturing locations, U.S. and Asia as able.

•You ensure product integrity and compliance through technical decision ownership.

•You maintain P&W quality image to all customers, through evaluation, investigation, analysis and rework/repair process development.

•You provide credible balance between Manufacturing capabilities and Engineering requirements.

•You interface with all levels of management, suppliers and external customers (FAA).

•You have experience in using process control/ six-sigma and or lean manufacturing tools.

•You will work with all Engineering disciplines (Structures, Aero and Design), Manufacturing and Quality Engineers, Operations and Inspection personnel and suppliers.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar required, masters preferred.

•3 - 7 years combined experience in Design, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering in aerospace; ideally in airfoil hardware.

•US citizenship is required due to government program requirements.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar required; Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering degrees are considered. A master degree is preferred.
