This role is responsible for providing shop floor support for the Manufacturing Execution System and hardware devices on 1st shift. The incumbent also serves as the main liaison between the plant operations and residential support team as a technical resource that can articulate customer requirements into actionable projects and solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily support of manufacturing network hardware devices such as printers, scanners, desktop computers

  • Perform daily checks of IT equipment on manufacturing floor before 1st shift starts

  • Ability to troubleshooting hardware devices, PC operating system issues and help with network related issues

  • Proactive documentation of IT hardware inventory and network diagrams related to the Carrier campus in Indianapolis

  • Provide 1st level support for Audio and Video equipment for presentations

  • Documentation of standard procedures for support IT-related operations in manufacturing, engineering and distribution

  • Ability to prioritize and balance the demands between daily tasks and project-based workload

  • Ability to adjust and adapt to changes in a fast paced environment

  • Availability to work overtime as needed

Qualification:

  • 5 years of experience in Information technology

  • Must be customer focused at all-times and have the ability to translate technical request from manufacturing operations to developers in a concise manner

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills when interacting with other departments

  • Highly motivated and the ability to complete work on time without supervision

  • Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred, but not required

  • Hands-on experience working with various barcode scanning and wireless technologies

  • Technical experience working with Microsoft SQL 2012 and 2014 databases and IIS tools

  • 3 years of support experience with Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and 2012 server platforms

Education: The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of AA/AS degree with 1-3+ years of experience or BA/BS degree with 0-2+ years of experience in an IT or Computer Science discipline or applicable equivalent from an accredited university.
