Climate, Controls & Security North America HVAC is seeking an Assoc Director, Logistics Operations to join our Supply Chain & Logistics organization. This is a highly visible role reporting to the Senior Director, Logistics. The Associate Director, Logistics Operations is responsible for delivering costs savings, elevated customer experiences and strengthening of our relationships with our transportation partners. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the highest level of integrity; be able to quickly identify and remove obstacles, drive and execute best practice improvements and possess strong attention to detail to achieve positive business results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead transportation strategies including the contracting, execution, network modeling, and service of all interplant and outbound freight

  • Monitor and manage transportation and operations performance, including setting goals and vision for the team

  • Serve as a thought leader for transportation innovations and multi modal strategies

  • Lead logistics sourcing strategies. Identify, develop and nurture strategic partnerships

  • Develop and implement best in class work processes, analytics, delivery methods, service and sustainability efforts as well as lead and execute cost savings projects across the network

  • Play a key role in the mentoring and developing transportation team and develop plans to support employee growth and development

  • Ensure all distribution centers (including 3PL’s) transportation activities are efficient, organized and foster teamwork and collaboration such that workforce objectives are met

  • Partner with distribution centers to evaluate, identify and quantify improvement opportunities and ensuring opportunities are prioritized and implemented

  • Sets goals, establish priorities, manage resources, and review project progress and results

  • Apply transportation continuous improvement tools to identify and eliminate the root causes of issues that may arise

  • Participate in teams, committees, events and training that support organizational growth and improvement

  • Drive standard work, ACE, EH&S, and overall and performance across the business

  • Safeguard transportation operations by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols

  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions

Qualification:

  • Ability to navigate in fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence multiple levels in the organization

  • Ability to make logical and accurate decisions using the best available information

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and anticipate needs

  • Excellent skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and development (Excel mastery) and integrated data base systems

  • Proven ability to succeed in the day to day management of sustaining as well as strategic priorities

  • Technical knowledge / understanding of the HVAC product industry or ability to learn quickly

  • Passionate about eliminating problems before they occur or after only one occurrence

  • Strong leadership skills including the capability to drive improvement and challenge the status quo

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+years of experience

  • Master's degree with 7+ years of experience
