Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. The Associate Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for learning the fundamentals necessary to optimize the performance of a wide range of tasks and services in support of assembly operations, production and business unit objectives. This position allows you to develop a strong foundation and understanding of the key concepts and processes of manufacturing engineering. Under guidance and mentorship, you will have many opportunities to apply your knowledge and experience of tooling and manufacturing methods along with techniques utilizing concepts for Aerostructures components and installations.

As an Associate Manufacturing Engineer, you will be contributing to the final assembly of these services for our customers, thus helping UTC Aerospace Systems to maintain its standing as one of the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Learn the fundamentals of manufacturing engineering and understand key concepts necessary to succeed in the role.

  • Assist in resolving technical problems in manufacturing process by following specific detailed instructions and under the guidance of more experienced engineers.

  • Perform root cause analysis and successful implementation of corrective action.

  • Perform tests of machines and compile reports of performance for designated project manager.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications

  • Willing to relocate to Foley, Alabama: relocation or interview travel reimbursement may be available.

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and engineering drawings/models.

  • Ability to demonstrate adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

  • Read, write, speak and understand work instructions both verbal and written, perform basic math calculations and conduct self-inspection / audit.

  • Demonstrated experience in application of Lean through Continuous Improvement events.

  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and manage resources along with effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge and experience of various MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Ability to work varying shifts, including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime as required.

  • Ability to travel to support the business needs.

  • Ability to be regular and predictable in attendance.

  • Read, write, speak and understand English language.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-directed and action-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, customers and others in a team environment displaying mutual trust and respect.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree with 1+ years of engineering experience, or

  • Bachelor's Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Degree preferably with experience
