Assist the Engineering group with the operation of the test lab and all the functions required to maintain all test equipment throughout the manufacturing facility. This job should be offered to individuals working towards a degree in Electronic Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering with an electrical background. The length of this job should be 2 to 3 years with the goal of hiring an Engineer capable of working immediately within the manufacturing environment upon completion of his or her education that is already familiar with Otis manufacturing operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for training, troubleshooting and testing electrical systems and equipment.

  • Build, label, test, and maintain test harnesses for all test equipment

  • Fabrication and wiring of electrical test panels per drawings and schematics

  • Setup, installation, and troubleshoot operation of test equipment for operation: continuity testers, ground bond testers, hipot testers, and specialized test equipment per instructions

  • Train and assist test operators with the operation of test equipment

  • Documentation of drawings and schematics when modifications are needed

  • Ordering, receiving, and shipping of parts needed for test equipment, lab supplies, and prototype projects

  • Maintain an inventory of parts in the lab

  • Maintain 5S in the lab area

  • Obtain ACE associate status within 2 years

Experience/Qualifications

  • Strong background in electrical and electronics

  • Good communication skills

  • Demonstrate safe work practices including LOTO

  • Good computer skills

  • Ability to use a multi-meter

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics

  • Able to use hand and power tools

  • Use of soldering equipment

  • Use of CAD a plus

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate's degree or technical degree in Electrical or Electronics preferred
