You could be part of our next chapter as an International Tax Reporting Associate Director, based in Farmington, Connecticut, with responsibility for analysis and review of all international locations tax provisions, including local taxes, intercompany transactions, and accounting for U.S. implications of international operations.
Leads ASC 740 reporting for international locations, including quarterly and year-end closings, as well as all requisite analyses and disclosures
Supports the year-end closing process and provision to compliance integration, the annual Tax Plan and quarterly reforecasts
Conducts effective tax rate and cash tax analysis and modeling
Supports the ASC 740 review with external auditors
Provides input into ASC 740 process and software continuous improvement
Supports SOX controls and testing requirements relating to the function
Supports the Foreign Tax Credit Model & Memo – Forecast, Plan & Year End Analysis; APB 23 Analysis; and U.S. international compliance processes and filings
Supports new tax reform computations
A bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance or a related discipline is required
An advanced tax degree and/or CPA is preferred
Seven to ten-plus years of experience with ASC 740 in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment
An operative understanding of the tax cycle from planning through audit
Ability to understand complex tax concepts and apply those concepts to minimize taxes
Ability to direct research and to support tax-planning strategies
Strong understanding of the U.S. taxation of international operations
Good knowledge of major non-US tax systems
Understanding of the impact of taxes on the financial statements, and an ability to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results
Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues, and recognize the need for identifying and seeking out internal or external subject-matter expertise
A basic understanding of tax systems capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate and coordinate with others throughout the Finance organization
Ability to understand, explain and advocate complex tax-accounting positions
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and under pressure with a sense of urgency
Ability to motivate others to achieve stated objectives
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A good business sense and creative problem-solving skills
A passion for understanding processes and continuous process improvement
A strong desire to work with others and share responsibilities in a team environment
Experience with Longview and/or HFM software a plus
A working understanding of major international tax systems a plus
