You could be part of our next chapter as a Domestic/International Tax Compliance Associate Director, based in Farmington, Connecticut. The successful candidate will be responsible for the international tax aspects of U.S. tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, 1118 and related calculations, and will work closely with the Tax Reporting and Tax Planning groups on these matters.
Leads U.S. international income tax compliance processes
Good understanding of tax compliance requirements related to US tax reform
Supports the federal income tax compliance process
Supports plan, forecast, quarterly and year-end closing processes
Manages tax compliance systems requirements
Leads foreign tax credit and foreign source income processes, including GILTI, Beat, Subpart F and dividends
Coordinates compliance co-sourcing resources
Supports the tax-modeling process
Supports the federal audit group, as necessary
Maintains Sarbanes-Oxley controls requirements
Establishes and maintains the best practices template, as well as ACE Quality Systems activities
A bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting, finance or related discipline required
An advanced tax degree and/or CPA preferred
Ten-plus years of federal tax compliance experience in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment, including three years of supervisory responsibility
An understanding of the U.S. taxation of non-U.S. operations
A good understanding of the major steps in the compliance process, from data sourcing through filing and tax account activity
An in-depth understanding of tax systems capabilities
Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvements
An understanding of the impact of income taxes on financial statements, and an ability to identify opportunities to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results
Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability and desire to communicate, collaborate and coordinate with others throughout the Tax and Finance organizations at both the Corporate and Business-Unit levels
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and under pressure
A strong sense of urgency
Ability to motivate others to work toward established deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A good business sense and creative problem-solving skills
A passion for understanding processes and continuous process improvement
The desire to work with others and share responsibilities in a team environment
Experience with CorpTax, Longview and/or HFM software a plus
