Description:

Corporate Responsibility is a critical element in Operations and Supply Chain. The Associate Director of UTC Operations Corporate Responsibility will lead 4 primary councils with indirect influence over divisional SMEs from the Corporate Supply Chain team, and embrace a leadership role in community outreach and associations. Through these relationships and collaborative forums, the Associate Director is charged with bringing key programs to the next level.

The Corporate Responsibility team has oversight of enterprise-wide activities related to:

  • Supplier Risk Management

  • UTC Conflict Minerals Compliance program

  • UTC Supplier Diversity program

  • UTC Supplier Sustainability program

The Associate Director is accountable for advancing the company’s commitment to supplier corporate responsibility by setting and successfully meeting UTC corporate operations’ roadmap goals. The will work closely with divisional and cross-functional leaders in Supply Management, Supplier Diversity, Treasury, Legal, Environmental, Health and Safety and Supplier Gold.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supports the supply chain professionals in the divisions as well as UTC treasury on managing risk and disruptions

  • Helps design and train on tools used to assess supply chain risk

  • Stays informed on KPIs related to sourcing, performance and growth of diverse suppliers and makes recommendations that result in achievement of customer (e.g. government) and Supplier Diversity targets

  • Chairs the UTC Supplier Diversity Council and organizes UTC Supplier Diversity Industry event participation

  • Leads the Supplier Sustainability Council in successful program launches across the supply base

  • Helps to establish KPIs and periodically evaluates metrics and processes to ensure the company’s goals are being met

  • Leads an enterprise-wide cross functional team with corporate and BU representation from supply management, legal, government relations, and controllers team regarding successful SEC filings

  • Ensures successful implementation with 3rd party vendor for UTC’s Conflict Minerals IT Solution and Services

  • Monitors legislative updates from a risk management standpoint

  • Benchmarks against other best in class/industry companies and programs; research best practices and trends; present findings to support corporate supplier responsibility initiatives

  • Actively engages in outreach efforts and attend conferences to identify viable diverse suppliers and increase knowledge-base on supplier diversity and corporate responsibility trends and best practices

  • Completes special assignments as requested

Qualification:

  • Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of supply chain and/or manufacturing operations and thrive in a high energy multicultural, international environment.

  • Demonstrated success influencing and driving change using strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Previous experience managing cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed organization

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and supporting processes

  • Ability to navigate detailed, global supply chain requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in business, supply management or communications

  • Masters degree in business administration preferred
