The successful candidate will collaborate with key partners across product, operations and technology to provide thought leadership and solution design by identifying business and technical requirements. The role is responsible for the design and Implementation of robust, secure and scalable systems across n-tier platforms. The Application Architect also will help set product direction and be responsible for evaluating and incorporating emerging standards and new technologies.

  • Essential Responsibilities

  • Re-architect existing applications and services to support high availability, and improve performance and process automation

  • Work with internal and external technology stakeholders to provide stable and scalable architecture that satisfies the needs of all stakeholders

  • Lead the development of technical infrastructure/architecture standards to enable the quality delivery of business requirements

  • Mentor and train the development team

  • Assist project managers by providing input to project planning, capacity planning, technical solutions, risk identification and risk closure

  • Review technical design and provide recommend improvements to the architecture/design

  • Work with the development team during application development and ensure compliance with architectural principles, guidelines and standards

  • Education/Certifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field

  • Basic Qualifications

  • Ten-plus years of related solution architecture experience, with hands-on experience in application and integration development

  • A minimum of five years in leadership roles (e.g., team lead or design lead)

  • Experience in managing a multiple of concurrent, high-visibility projects with a high degree of accuracy

  • A solid understanding of various software EAI design patterns

  • Ten-plus years of hands-on experience in developing and leading enterprise applications, and interfacing with SAP/JDE ERP systems, HR Workday and Oracle/Java- based applications

  • Possession of a thorough understanding of common software delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps)

  • Strong development fundamentals, including design patterns, database schema design, data modeling, API design and considerations, and quality concepts

  • A variety of technical skills, including current leading web and database technologies, particularly those web- and cloud-related (Microservices and APIs)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated advanced verbal, visual and written communication skills in technical domains

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, particularly soft skills and the ability to influence others

  • Experience in communicating to non-technical audiences when gathering customer requirements
