The Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the predictive / preventative maintenance and repair programs / activities at Collins Aerospace. This position assists with the development of budgets, scheduling / assignment of trade resources, along with sustaining and/or implementation of maintenance programs in a cost effective and efficient manner. This position supervises a team of support and/or production level or hourly/direct employees in Facilities. Sets day-to-day activities for the team of skilled traders, other maintenance employees and security personnel. Responsible for the planning, coordinating and scheduling of all shutdown work impacting production areas. Manages facility improvement projects and outside contractors. Maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work performed.Responsible for coordinating flow of work orders through the Machine Shop to support Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall predictive maintenance program for the plant to assure production requirements are met on time, at the highest possible quality and the lowest possible cost. This includes routine maintenance and repair, preventive, predictive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and capital project design support.

  • Manages several facilities improvement projects. Prepares and submits statement of work packages, appropriation requests, capital expenditure requests, and cost justification packages for management review. Coordinates with internal supply chain and outside contractors for ongoing projects.

  • Supervises security personnel at a single site who perform activities related to building security, safety, and organization or government restrictions

  • Plans, designs, and reconfigures equipment, machinery, buildings, and structures to ensure the optimal utilization of the organization's facilities.

  • Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs.

  • Initiates process improvement projects and upgrades of existing equipment & maintains monthly metrics reporting.

  • Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.

  • Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.

  • Ensures proper functioning of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance.

  • Administer safety and risk assessment programs for the plant and maintenance department. Ensure contractors and trades staff follows safety procedures.

  • Conducts machine inventories and arranges disposal of obsolete or no-longer-required equipment.

  • Manages facilities contractor management process.

  • Position requires some coverage of off-hour operations.

Education/Certifications:

  • High school Diploma or Equivalent

  • Trade License(s), Trade Certifications, or Associates degree in related field are all highly preferred.

  • Examples of Preferred Certifications are/but not limited too:• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) from the Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP)• Certified Facility Manager (CFM) from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA)• Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) from the Association of Facilities Engineers (AFE)• Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) from BOMI International

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of supervisory related experience.

  • Industrial & Lean Manufacturing experience/training strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated experience in making sound judgments.

  • Demonstrated success in leading by example and a demonstrated ability to facilitate and manage change effectively is preferred.

  • Looking for highly qualified energetic candidates with any of the following credentials:
