As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including an Engineering Supervisor in our business located in Everett, WA.

SUMMARY

Discipline: Mechanical Supervisor

A successful candidate will be the engineering representative and participate as the leader of a mechanical design team. The mechanical supervisor will assign work to their assigned team and manage their day to day tasks to ensure program deliverables are completed within the budget and on schedule, with a high level of quality the meets or exceeds the requirements. The mechanical supervisor will also be the primary source of technical support to their team. Additionally, the supervisor will responsible for their teams performance reviews, monitoring and developing skill sets, and support career paths. As required, the supervisor will also take on design work to help support the program they are working on.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day to day activities for their team

  • Schedule work assignment for team

  • Ensure all mechanical design deliverables are meet on time and within the budget

  • Approve all designs ensuring they meet the requirements

  • Schedule and present during design reviews to an Integrated Product Team (IPT)

  • Ensure the team is properly staffed

  • Communicating effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers

  • Ensuring the successful integration of each design element with the product as a whole

  • Production detail design and support development

  • Ability to make trade-offs to yield optimum results, achieving cost, weight, functionality and reliability goals

  • Design for manufacturability and testing

  • Good communication and leadership skills

  • Monitor and develop the skill sets of their direct reports

  • Support direct reports in identifying their career path

  • Approve timesheets and PTO requests of their direct reports

  • Complete performance reviews for their team.

  • Travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally

  • Any other reasonable duties

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have experience designing components and assemblies.

  • Strong ability to multitask by owning several projects and running them simultaneously.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with individuals whose first language is not English.

  • Must be able to research and investigate design solutions and work independently.

  • Must have relevant 3D solid modeling and drafting experience. NX is preferred; however Catia, Solidworks or other systems will also be acceptable.

  • The ability to interpret 2D drawings including a good understanding of GD&T

  • Strong Microsoft office skills including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • NX (formally Unigraphics)

  • Siemens Teamcenter

  • Experience with Qualification Test Programs for Boeing & Airbus programs highly desired

  • Ability to interact with high levels of internal and external management

  • Able to make clear and concise customer presentations

  • Experience with kaizen workshops or other lean activities

  • Experience with updating or authoring standard work and processes

  • Strong engineering skills including kinematics, kinetics, free body diagrams, and how stresses flow through a particular design.
