Job Description:

Our P&W facility in E. Hartford, CT is looking for a Tool Planning Engineer to develop concepts for new repair tool designs for Military Engines F135 program.

Your Responsibilities:

•Present tool concepts to USAF and JPO (Joint Program Office) customers for review, and obtain customers approval to proceed to detailed design and tool build.

•Complete the PW Tool Design Review process and ensure tools are developed and produced in compliance with PW Repair Tool Design requirements and customer expectations.

•Coordinate with suppliers, and perform final checks of tooling developed at suppliers.

•Review tool drawings.

•Develop tool usage instructions for end users.

•Present tool to USAF and JPO customers for final approval and acceptance for repair production.

•Resolve technical questions on tooling from customers and suppliers; disposition EQNs (engineering quality notices).

Qualification: Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • At least 5 years tool design experience

  • 10 years experience in a manufacturing/design environment and experience

  • 5 years experience with reading and interpreting repair requirements, tool and part blue prints, understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and technical writing skills

  • 5 years of experience with typical repair and manufacturing processes including welding, brazing, riveting, and coating processes including plasma spray.

  • 5 years of experience with Unigraphics

  • US citizenship is required due to government program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related degree and relevant experience.

  • Teamcenter experience preferable.

  • Proficient with MS Office products.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
