Have you considered what it may be like to work at Pratt & Whitney? We have a rare opportunity for a talented Temporary Vendor Assist Business Unit Manager to be based in East Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities include leading HSMC-S Temporary Vendor Assist (TVA) business performance. Success will be measured by developing sourcing strategies and executing goals and objectives to meet cost, quality, and delivery. The individual will lead a cross functional group from Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Materials, Industrial, and Finance to execute on business requirements and deliver to customer expectations.

Qualified candidates will provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building. They will be able to communicate effectively, have strong strategic leadership and business insight.

They will excel at forward thinking and insure the entire unit is customer focused enabling it to meet the demands of a difficult manufacturing environment.

Successful individuals will:

  • Delegate effectively to develop personnel and balance the workload

  • Establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance for subordinates.

  • Give constant feedback on performance to those standards.

  • Effectively coach employees to improve performance when needed.

  • Effectively communicate with other department personnel and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Communicate to peers requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow

  • Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities

  • Effectively establish supplier relationships and lead supplier capacity assessments, accrual management, engineering support / activity to improve flow of product

Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • US Citizen required due to government contract

  • 12 years or more experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Materials, Manufacturing or similar

Preferred Qualification:

  • Advance degree preferred

  • Can craft clear communication

  • Build positive relationships

Education:

Bachelor's degree required
