Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking a highly motivated manufacturing engineering professional to support Hot Section Module Center’s manufacturing engineering organization.

As a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to serve in a dynamic environment where you will work across disciplines, influencing successful outcomes while building strong, credible relationships with key partners. The Hot Section Module Center is based in East Hartford, CT, but sources parts from across the globe. Our parts and processes are highly engineered, and we value teamwork and collaboration. Responsibilities include:

  • The processes include Conventional and Non-Conventional Machining, every type of Welding, Heat Treatment, Surface Treatment, Sheet Metal Processing, Diffusion Bonding, and applications of automation. The materials are primarily Ni alloys and Titanium.

  • Provide urgent manufacturing technical problem solving for critical supplier issues

  • Troubleshoot quality issues, drive root cause analysis, and corrective and mistake proofing actions

  • Coach and provide manufacturing technical support for supplier development, part transitions, source selections, and problem resolution plans

  • Identify production quality risks to full rate production and provide manufacturing engineering input for mitigation plans. Organize and lead manufacturing Process Control reviews and Assess suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities and capacity.

  • Drive cost reduction and process improvement initiatives •Represent best practices to eliminate Environment, Health and Safety risks including ergonomics and other human risk factors

  • This role has significant interaction with the operations, design engineering, purchasing, and quality assurance

  • Travel to Supplier Manufacturing sites 50%

Qualification: Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree with Engineering/ Manufacturing discipline such as Mechanical, industrial, manufacturing or operations or equivalent related technical discipline is required

  • 2 or more years of manufacturing engineering experience

  • US Citizenship is required due to government contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • •Dynamic communicator and connector able to make things happen across multiple functions

  • •Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality requirements is a huge plus.

  • . Quality background includes an understanding of specifications and inspection processes

  • . •A working-knowledge of the ACE (Achievable Competitive Excellence) Tools is desired including Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, QCPC (quality control process charts)/Root-Cause Analysis and Set-Up Reduction/Mistake-Proofing

. May bring someone in at a higher level dependent upon experience/qualifications

Education: Bachelor Degree with Engineering/ Manufacturing discipline such as Mechanical, industrial, manufacturing or operations or equivalent related technical discipline is required
